Waltham 17 jewel grade 635, 14K gold filled case
Very nice pocket watch made by Waltham Watch Co. in 1908, housed in a top quality 25 year 14K gold filled case.
The nickel bridge plate movement is a model 1908 so is actually one of the first of this particular movement to be made. The model 1908 is a development of the earlier highly successful model 1899 which proved to be highly reliable and accurate in it's timekeeping abilities.
The movement has 17 jewels , a Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets, and a "Church 1892" regulator. It is running extremely well and is keeping good time to better than +1 minute per day. The watch is stem wind and stem set (simply pull on the crown and it clicks into time set position). All working as it should.
The English made case is the best quality 14K gold filled variety and has hinged covers front and rear with a hinged internal dust cover. The case is in lovely condition with some slight scuffing to the rear cover being the only signs of age and use.
A double sunk white enamel dial in lovely condition, I can find no flaws. A very good set of blued steel "whip" style hands under a very good mineral crystal.
Overall a very nice useable watch in exceptionally good condition.
