Waltham 15 jewel pocket watch.

Waltham 15 jewel pocket watch.

A very good 16 size pocket watch made by Waltham Watch Co. in 1928.

The nickel, bridge plate movement is a model 1908, grade 620 with 15 jewels, a Swiss lever escapement and a plain regulator. The model 1908 was a development of the earlier highly successful model 1899. Both of these models are well known for their rugged reliability and timekeeping accuracy. This one is a really nice example as it's running strong and keeping time within a few seconds per day. It is stem wind and stem set.

It is housed in an English made case which suggests it was imported into the UK as a movement only which was well established practice at that time. The case is a 10 year gold filled model with a snap on bezel and hinged rear cover with a hinged internal dust cover. The case is in lovely condition with no evident dings or dents, and whilst the original engine turning to the rear cover has worn smooth there is no evident wear through. The pendant, crown and bow are also in very good order. Both of the hinges are good and all covers open and close as they should.

The single sunk white enamel dial is in excellent condition as are the blued steel hands, and the glass crystal.

Overall a fine example of this excellent watch, could be used daily.
