Superb Hamilton 950 23 jewel railroad watch
A "Top of the shop" railroad watch mad by Hamilton Watch Co. in 1910.
The 950 was the highest grade 16 size movement made by Hamilton in 1910 it featured 23 jewels, a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallet stones, gold timing screws, and a "Reed" micro-regulator. Beautifully finished with a lovely damaskened pattern, screw set gold jewel settings, all gold (alloy) train wheels and a jewelled motor barrel.
This particular watch is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. It is running strong in all positions and is keeping spot on time.
The watch is stem wind and lever set (withdraw the small lever by the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time) both functions working well.
The movement is housed in a 20 year gold filled case with screw on/off covers which both do so easily and both close square and tight. The case is in lovely condition with no dents, dings or abrasion and all of the gold appears intact, similarly the pendant crown and bow. The rear cover has professionally engraved initials, please see the photos as they are an integral part of this description.
The original white enamel dial appears unmarked, I can find no faults. Time indicated by a good set of blued steel spade style hands under a very good glass crystal.
Overall a super collectible railroad watch in super condition and working perfectly.
