Super Hamilton 992 railroad watch
A very good early 21 jewel railroad watch made by Hamilton in 1913.
The nickel movement is very high quality with 21 jewels, a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallet stones, gold timing screws, and a "Reed" micro-regulator. Beautifully finished with a damaskened pattern, gilt inlaid script, and gold jewel settings. This watch is running sweet and is keeping excellent time.
The watch is stem wind and lever set (withdraw the small lever by the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time).
The gold filled 3 piece case has screw on/off covers and both do so easily whilst closing down square and tight. The case is in good condition with no obvious dents, dings or heavy abrasion, and the pendant, crown and bow are all good.
original double sunk white enamel Montgomery dial is in good condition, there are no chips or cracks but an obvious hairline bertween the 12 and the 1 with a few minor hairlines around that area, please see the photos. To the naked eye there is just the line 12-1.
Time indicated by a good set of blued steel spade style hands under a good mineral glass crystal.
Overall a nice railroader in very good condition for it's age, working as intended.
