Stunning 21 jewel Hamilton 940 Railroad Watch

Simply stunning railroad watch made by Hamilton Watch Co. in 1920.
Beautiful, high quality 18 size full plate movement to full railroad specification. It has 21 jewels, a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, gold timing screws, and "Goldthwaite" patent micro-regulator. The movement also has the Hamilton motor barrel. Beautifully finished the nickel movement has a lovely damascened pattern, gilt inlaid script, and gold jewel settings.
This watch is mechanically sound as it has good amplitude in all positions, runs reliably for the full length of the wind and keeps spot on time thoughout. It is crown wind and lever set (Withdraw the small lever by the 2 and rotate the crown to set the time). both functions working smoothly.
 
Housed in a fabulous 25 year gold filled case with screw on / off covers front and rear. The detailing on th erear cover is still crisp and sharp with very little evident wear. There are no dents or dings and the gold is intact all over with no wear through. Both covers remove and replace easily and both close down square and tight. The pendant, crown and bow are all in good order. A really handsome case is super condition.
 
Double sunk, white enamel Montgomery dial in super condition along with a very good set of blued steel hands under a very good mineral glass crystal.
 
Overall a really handsome watch in beautiful condition and working as it should. Fabulous!
