Splendid Illinois 19j "Bunn" Railroad

A fairly scarce railroad watch made by Illinois Watch Co. in 1919. One of only 14600 ever made.
 
The nickel movement is a high quality 19 jewel model 11 "Bunn" grade with a Swiss Lever Escapement, double roller, Sapphire pallets. and a sprung micro-regulator. The watch has a gold(alloy) centre wheel and screw set gold jewel settings. Perhaps overshadowed by it's far more numerous "Bunn Special" siblings this is nevertheless a very high quality, full Railroad Spec watch that performs equally as well as the "Special".
This watch was serviced in November last year and is running strong in all positions and is keeping very good time. It is stem wind and lever set with both functions working smoothly. (Withdraw the small lever by the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time).
 
Housed in an original "Bunn Special" case. 10K gold filled with screw on/off covers. The case is in lovely overall condition with no dents, dings or abrasion, and with both covers removing/replacing easily and both close down square and tight.
Double sunk white enamel Montgomery style dial in lovely condition with no chips, cracks, and just one tiny tiny hairline by the 1.
A very good set of black enamelled heavy spade style hands under a good acrylic crystal.
 
Overall, a rare and handsome original railroader in super fine condition, working as advertised.
