Rare Hamilton 952 railroad watch
A rare beastie from Hamilton as only 7300 were ever made, this one in 1911.
Nickel bridge plate type movement with 19 jewels, Swiss lever escapement with Sapphire pallets, double roller, gold timing screws, and a sprung micro-regulator. This movement is in fine condition as it was last serviced in May of last year. It runs strong and is keeping very good time. The watch is stem wind and lever set.
The 20 year gold filled case is in fine condition as there are no dents, dings or abrasion and the gold is good with no evident wear through anywhere. The embossed design on t erear cover does show age related smoothing but is still clear. In the photos the cartouche has not aligned vertically but in reality it does do so, I had simply not screwed the cover fully home, doh!! 3 piece case with screw on/off covers and both do so easily.
Double sunk quasi Montgomery style 24 hour dial (a true Montgomery would have the 6 within the sub seconds dial). The dial is in fair condition as it does have a very small chip by the lever and there are a couple of faint hairlines. Nice dial though! A good set of blued steel spade style hands and a very good glass crystal.
Overall a rare opportunity for the collector to acquire a nice example of this watch.
