Lovely Hamilton 992E railroad watch

Really nice Hamilton 992E railroader in a beautiful original Hamilton case, running strong and keeping excellent time.
The 992E was a development of the 992 incorporating the "Elinvar" temperature resistant hairspring along with a solid mono-metal balance wheel. This was a considerable advancement over the earlier types of hairspring and was incorporated into all future watches made by Hamilton.
The movement is first class quality featuring a fully jewelled escapement with double roller, gold timing screws and a micro-regulator. Along with gold jewel settings and a gold (alloy) centre wheel the watch exceeded the railroad standardsof the day. It has recently been serviced and a new mainspring fitted so it's running strong in all positions and keeps excellent time.
The case is in super condition with just a few surface scratches on the rear cover. The white enamel dial is in as new condition as are the hands and the acrylic crystal.
