Illinois16s Bunn Special 60 hour motor barrel Rail Road
Here we have a very nice Illinois 60 hr. Bunn Special Rail Road watch much prized amongst collectors.
The 21 jewel movement features raised gold jewel settings, gold screws to the balance and at the time of manufacture adjusted to 6 positions, the motor barrel runs for 60 hours when fully wound. The lever set movement has been serviced and is in excellent condition, self starting when wound, running with strong amplitude and keeping good time to less than a minute per day. The serial number dates this watch to 1927.
The double sunk railroad dial features bold ,crisp Arabic numerals and is in near perfect condition as I can detect no flaws. The heavy spade railroad hands nicely blued and straight.
The 25yr. Gold Filled case in lovely condition with screw on/off front/rear covers operating smoothly and closing down nice and tight. There is an engraving of a village scene to the rear cover that is still fairly sharp but does show signs wear. No brassing evident on the case, the pendant, the crown and the bow.
The acrylic crystal clear and unmarked.
In summary, a highly collectable watch in excellent condition and running well.
This watch comes with 3 month conditional guarantee.
