Illinois 19 jewel "Rockland" pocket watch

Illinois 19 jewel "Rockland" pocket watch

I am sorry but I appear to be having a temporary problem in uploading the running video.

Anyway this is a 19 jewel pocket watch made by Illinois Watch Co. in 1917.

The nickel bridge plate movement is a beautifully finished grade 306 with 19 jewels A Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets, gold timing screws and a micro-regulator. Finished with a gold(alloy) centre wheel, a damaskeened pattern on the plates, gold jewel settings, gilt screw heads and gilt inlaid script.

This is not a railroad watch so it is stem wind and stem set, both functions work well. The watch runs strong and keeps really good time.

The 3 piece case is rolled gold with elaborate decoration to the cover edges and the edge of the main body. It's in really nice condition with no dents or dings, the pendant, crown and bow also in good nick. It's a really handsome case.

I can find no flaws with the white enamel dial but please study the photos.

A good set of hands under a very good acrylic crystal.

Overall a nice high quality watch in excellent condition.
