Hamilton 992E railroad watch.
Really nice Hamilton 992E made in 1938, just serviced.
High quality movement with 21 jewels to full Railroad spec. Featuring a Fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets, the innovative "Elinvar" hairspring and monometallic balance wheel with gold timing screws, sprung micro-regulator, gold centre wheel, and gold jewel settings.
The watch has just been fully serviced and fitted with a new mainspring. It runs strong in all positions and is keeping time to within a couple of seconds per day. The watch is stem wind and stem set.
The 10K gold filled "Bar over Crown" case is in fair condition, the tube over the crown is very worn and there are a couple of minor dings to the rear cover. No major dents, no abrasion and the gold is intact throughout. With screw on / off covers both do so easily and both close down square and tight.
Excellent double sunk white enamel dial, I can find no flaws, similarly excellent blued steel hands and glass crystal.
Overall a scarce watch in very nice condition and working as it should.
