Hamilton 992B railroad in Stainless Steel case, superb!

A beautiful 16 size railroad grade watch made by Hamilton Watch Co. in 1966.
 
The Hamilton 992B is considered by many to be the finest railroad watch made by any of the American Watch making companies. It features all of the very latest innovations and improvements along with the traditional quality and refinement expected of American made watches. Famed for it's accuracy and reliability the 992B is the benchmark against which others are judged.
 
The nickel bridge plate movement has 21 jewels, a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallet stones, gold timing screws, "Elinvar" white metal temperature and magnetism resistant hairspring and solid mono-metal balance wheel. The movement is finished with a handsome damascened pattern and gold jewel settings.
This particular watch is a late production model as the final watches were made in 1969 when the factory closed. It is running really well with super strong amplitude in all positions, runs reliably for over 40 hours on a single wind, and is keeping time within + 5secs per 24Hrs. For the cosmetic condition please study the photos, I can't fault it.
The watch is crown wind and lever set (Withdraw the small lever by the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time) both functions are working smoothly.
 
The movement is housed in it's original stainless steel case which is fully signed within the rear cover. It has screw on / off covers front and rear which both do so easily and both close down square and tight. The case is virtually unmarked with no dents, dings or heavy abrasion, and the crown and bow are in equally good order. A nice case.
 
Melamine white dial in very good order with none of the cracks and hairlines that these can be prone to.  All of the printing is crisp and sharp and the time is indicated by a very good set of black enamelled hands. All residing under a very good acrylic crystal.
 
Overall a highly collectable railroader in super condition that is both reliable enough, and accurate enough to be used daily if desired.
