Fine Hamilton 992B railroad watch. Serviced
A handsome railroad watch made by Hamilton Watch Co. in 1951.
16 size nickel movement with 21 jewels which was the peak of development at the time the watch was made, it features a fully capped Swiss Lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets, gold timing screws, and a sprung micro-regulator. The watch has the white metal alloy "Elinvar" hairspring which is resistant to temperature variation and is also anti-magnetic.
This watch has just had a full strip down service and is running really well whilst keeping excellent time.
The watch is stem wind and lever set with both functions operating smoothly. (Withdraw the small lever by the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time).
Original 10K gold filled case with screw on/off covers. The case is in nice condition with no obvious dents, dings or abrasion and all of the gold appears intact.
White melamine dial in very good order as are the blued steel heavy spade style hands, all under a good acrylic crystal.
Overall a very good example of this highly collectible railroader in fine condition and running well.
