Fine 17j Waltham Appleton Tracey model 1892

Fairly scarce early railroad watch made by Waltham Watch Co. in 1901.
The 18 size movement is a full plate model 1892 which was the last and best 18 size watch made by Waltham. This is an "Appleton Tracey" grade with 17 jewels, a Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets and gold timing screws. It has a "Church 1892" micro-regulator and gold jewel settings.
This watch has just been fully serviced and has a new mainspring so it's mechanically sound and runs with strong amplitude in all positions whilst keeping excellent good time to within a few seconds per day.
The watch is stem wind and lever set (withdraw the small lever by the 2 and rotate the crown to set the time).
The movement is housed in a hefty 3 piece case made from heavy gauge "Silverode" which is a Nickel / Silver alloy. The case is in fine condition with no dents and just the smallest pin head sized ding to the main band by the 3. Both covers remove / replace easily and both close down square and tight all around.
The original white enamel dial has red 5 minute markers around the outer track and is in fair condition. There are no chips or cracks but there is a small collection of fine hairlines around the 8 and some around the 4. Not too noticeable in the hand but they are there.
Time indicated by a good set of blued steel hands under a good replacement acrylic crystal.
Overall a fine pocket watch in lovely overall condition and working as it should.
