Fine 16s Elgin 21j B W Raymond railroad watch.
A fine late model Elgin B W Raymond 21 jewel railroad watch made in 1952.
The nickel movement is a grade 571 which was the final version of the B W Raymond that incorporates all of the developments and improvements made to the watch over the years, including the "Invar" white metal hairspring and solid balance wheel. It features a fully capped Swiss lever escapement, the above mentioned hairspring and balance wheel, double roller and micro-regulator.
The watch has just been fully serviced so it's running strong and keeping very good time. It's stem wind and lever set.
The original gold filled case is in super condition with no dents, dings or abrasion, and all of the gold is intact, bright and lustrous. A fine case where the screw on / off covers both do so easily.
Correct original Montgomery style white enamel dial is in as new condition with a good set of heavy spade style hands under a very good mineral crystal.
Overall a lovely watch that is in super condition and working as intended.
