Elgin "B W Raymond" 21j gold flashed movement. Railroad watch.

Fairly rare Elgin railroader with a grade 478 "Gold Flashed" 21 jewel movement. Only 12000 of this variant with this finish were ever produced. Full railroad specification movement that is running strong and keeping excellent time. The high quality movement features 21 jewels, fully capped Swiss lever escapement, Sapphire pallets, gold timing screws, white metal "Invar" hairspring, and a "Ball" micro-regulator. The watch is stem wind and lever set.
Nice original gold filled case signed Elgin inside rear cover. The case is in fair condition as whilst there are no dents, dings or abrasion there is a band of wear through around the rear cover shoulder. Both covers remove easily and replace square and tight.
The white enamel dial is in unmarked condition as are the blued steel railroad style hands and all under a very good mineral crystal.
Overall a rare rairoader in lovely condition ready to go to work.
