Elgin 21 j B W Raymond grade 478 Railroad watch

Fine example of the Elgin 21 jewel grade 478 B W Raymond railroad watch made in 1923.
Full railroad spec movement with 21 jewels, fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets, gold timing screws and a Ball micro-regulator. Recently serviced and with a new mainspring the watch is running strong and keeping excellent time. It is stem wind and lever set.
Original Elgin signed 3 piece gold filled case with screw on/off front and rear covers. The case is in fair condition with all of the gold intact but shows signs of smoothing to the embossed edges. Both covers remove and replace easily and both close down square and tight.
The original white enamel dial is in excellent condition as are the hands and the acrylic crystal.
Overall an excellent example of this early B W Raymond.
