All original 16s Elgin "B.W.Raymond" 21j Railroad watch

All original 16s Elgin "B.W.Raymond" 21j Railroad watch

SKU: 364215376135199

Here we have a very nice all original Elgin Railroad watch.

The movement is a Grade 571 "B.W.Raymond" 21 jewell manufactured in 1947 and was fully adjusted when it was made and would have been accurate to within 10 seconds per week. Over time these adjustments alter and the timekeeping suffers. I have serviced this watch and confirm it is in excellent condition and now running very well to within a minute per day. This watch is pendant wound and lever set.

The case is the original case made by Elgin and the watch would have been fully assembled by Elgin (Most watches were sold as movement only and married to their case by the retailer, who would have offered several case options.) It is in excellent condition with only light surface scratching to the covers, the bow and pendant in excellent condition. The covers screw on and off easily.

The double sunk railroad dial original and in brand new condition, all of the printing crisp and clear. The heavy spade railroad hands in fine condition. The crystal in new condition, no marks or scratches evident.

A lovely example of these excellent watches in fine useable condition.
