18s Waltham "845" model 1892 21jewel railroad pocket watch

A beautiful high grade railroad pocket watch made by Waltham Watch Co. in1908.
 
The nickel full plate movement is a model 1892, the last and best full plate movement made by Waltham. This is a full Railroad specification grade 845 which has 21 jewels, a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets, gold timing screws and an "Ohlson 1908" patent regulator. The watch also has the Waltham patented "Safety Spring Barrel" which prevents collateral damage in the event of a mainspring breakage.
Beautifully finished with a lovely damaskeened pattern to the plates, gold jewel settings, and black enameled inlaid script this particular watch movement is cosmetically fine and mechanically sound. There are no undue marks or staining on the plates or components and the watch runs strong in all positions for the full length of the wind whilst keeping excellent time over 24 hours, better than +1 minute per day. The watch is crown wind and lever set (withdraw the small lever by th e2 and rotate the crown to set the time), both winding and setting functions working well.
Gorgeous 3 piece gold filled case in super fine condition with no dents, dings or abrasion and with all of the gold bright and lustrous throughout. The pendant, crown and bow also in super fine condition. Screw on/off covers front and rear, both do so easily and both close down square and tight. This is a really nice case.
Super fine double sunk white enamel dial with red 5 minute outer markers. The dial appears flawless to me I can find no defects but please see the photos. A fine set of blued steel hands under a very good mineral glass crystal.
Overall a very collectible railroader in super fine overall condition and quite a hefty thing to hold in the hand, beautiful.
