18s Waltham 17j A.T.& Co Premier model 1892 Railroad

Sturdy 18 size 17 jewel railroad watch made by Waltham Watch Co. in1901.
The movement is a 17 jewel model 1892 Appleton Tracy premier grade with a Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallet stones, gold timing screws and a "Church 1892" micro-regulator. Whilst this is not the top grade model 1892 it is nonetheless avery high quality example of Waltham's best 18 size movement. The 1892 being the final development of 18 size full plate movements.
This one has just been serviced and a new mainsprig fitted. It is running strong in all positions and is keeping excellent time within + a few seconds per 24 Hrs..
The watch is stem wind and lever set (Withdraw the small lever by the 2 and rotate the crown to set the time.
Housed in a "Genuine" Silveroid case (Silveroid is a Nickel / Silver alloy) which is super tough as a heavy gauge material is used to manufacture the case. It has hinged front and rear covers with a hinged internal dust cover. All of the hinges are good and all of the covers operate as they should, and all close down particularly tight all around. A very good case that polishes up  nicely.
Inside the rear cover of the case is the original guarantee that came with the watch. A very rare find as not many of these paper guarantees survive today. I must point out that this guarantee is most obviously time expired long ago.
Original double sunk dial is in super condition as are the blued steel spade style hands, and all under a superb heavy glass crystal.
Overall, a beautiful example of these fairly scarce watches in lovely useable condition, and all appears to be original.
