18s Waltham 17 jewel A.T.&Co.
High grade 18 size pocket watch made by Waltham Watch Co. in 1903.
The gilt finished full plate movement is a model 1883 "Appleton Tracy & Co." grade with 17 jewels, and English lever (right angled) escapement with a "Church 1885" micro-regulator. A.T.&Co. was a superior quality movement at the time this watch was made. The watch is running strong in all positions and is keeping excellent time within + 1 minute per day. It is stem wind and stem set (Simply click out the crown and rotate to set the time) both functions working well.
Housed in a handsome gold filled 3 piece case that has screw on/off covers front and rear. The case is in lovely condition with no dents, dings or abrasion and the gold is intact throughout. The pendant and crown are in good order and it would appear that the bow is a replacement as the gold is a different hue to the rest of the watch. Both covers remove/replace easily and both close down square and tight. Nice case!
Double sunk white enamel dial is to Canadian railway 24 Hr. spec with the outer chapter in Roman numerals with an inner 24Hr. chapter in Arabic numerals, The dial is in lovely condition as I can find no flaws but please study the photos.
A good set of ornate blued steel hands to indicate the time and all residing under a very good mineral glass crystal.
Overall a lovely watch in excellent condition that is working as intended.
