18s Waltham 15j model 1883, spectacular "Swing out" case.

An 18s Waltham pocket watch made by Waltham Watch Co in around 1895/6, housed in a spectacular English made swing out case.
The nickel full plate movement is a model 1883 with 15 jewels and an English lever (right angled) escapement. The watch is running strong and keeping excellent good time, It is crown wind and crown set (Pull out the crown and rotate to set the time), both functions work well.
The case is a nickel alloy swing out style whereby the movement is retained in a solid ring that is itself attached by a hinge below the 12 to the main body of the case. To expose the movement click out the crown as if setting the time and using the indentation below the six swing the movement up and out of the main case body. This particular case is a very tight fit so a blade of some description is needed to lift the movement, and care is needed to ensure it is fully returned when closing it up. The rear of the case features a spectacular gold locomotive (American "Choo Choo").
The case is in beautiful condition with no dents or dings and the embossed/engraved loco is in lovely condition. A spectacular case in my opinion but please see the photos.
To complement the spectacular case is the bold white enamel dial with heavy Roman numerals and unusually the movement serial number is heavily printed on the dial as well. This dial is in excellent condition as I can find no flaws. The time is indicated by a very good set of heavy spade style hands and all under a very thick mineral glass crystal.
Overall this is very much a statement watch in lovely condition and working very well.
