18s Hampden gold filled full hunter
Early 18s Hampden full hunter.
The movement is a model 2 with 11 jewells, manufactured in 1879 the third year of production. This is a 3/4 plate movement when most of the competition were producing full plate models. The watch has been fully serviced, is in good condition and runs well with good timekeeping. The watch is pendant wound and lever set.
The Gold Filled case is bright and shiny but beginning to show its age with the engaved design being fairly worn down, there are initials engraved in the front cover cartouche but these also are fairly worn. A couple of small spots of brassing to the front and rear, but these quite hard to see. The hinges are good and the covers open and close as they should.
The single sunk dial is in very good condition with no visible chips, cracks or hairlines. The printing still crisp and sharp. The hands in good order, straight and blue. The crystal also in good order, no chips or scratches.
A nice early Hampden in very good used original condition.
