18s Ball Hamilton 999A railroad watch
The Ball Watch Co. was founded to supply mainly railroad grade watches to the railroad companies of the day. The movements were made by the established watch making companies and assembled into their cases at the Ball factory and sold under the Ball brand name.
The movement in this watch was made by Hamilton Watch Co. in1904. It's a nickel full plate movement with 21 jewels a Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets, gold timing screws and a micro-regulator. It runs strong in all positions, keeps excellent time and is in beautiful cosmetic condition.
The watch is stem wind and lever set.
Gorgeous 25 year gold filled, highly decorated case that shows very little wear. Only a general smoothing of the embossed designs to give away it's age. Hinged front and rear covers and a hinged internal dust cover. All of the hinges are good and all of the covers open and close tight as they should. A beautiful case!
Original single sunk white enamel dial is in as new condition, a very good set of spade style hands and a new acrylic crystal.
Overall a very rare watch in stunning condition, working as intended.
