18 size Waltham 17 jewel "P S Bartlet" model 1883

Here we have a very nice Silverode cased Waltham 17 jewel model 1883, "P S Bartlet" grade. This is a big sturdy pocket watch where the movement is attached to a solid ring that itself is attached by a hinge to the main body of the case. These are probably the most protective cases available for watch buyers at the turn of the century. The case is made from a heavy gauge Nickel alloy with just one removable cover which helps reduce the ingress of dirt, dust etc.
The nickel full plate movement is in excellent condition, running well and keeping good time.
