18 size Hamilton 940 railroad watch

A handsome railroader  Hamilton 940 made in 1909.
The full plate model 1 Hamilton 940 movement features 21 jewels, a Swiss lever escapement with double roller, gold timing screws and a micro-regulator. Fitted with a jewelled motor barrel and finished with a lovely damascened pattern, gilt inlaid script and screw set  jewel settings this is a very high quality movement. It is runnng well and is keeping very good time. The watch is stem wind and lever set.
The 20 year gold filled case is in fair condition but does exhibit bands of wear through to the edges of the screw on/off front and rear covers. The engraved design on th erear cover has almost completely worn smooth although it is still visible. There are no dents, dings or abrasion so in conclusion the case is in overall fair condition.
Original double sunk white enamel dial is in good order but does have a small chip by the 4, all of the printing is crisp and sharp. Very good blued steel hands under a good acrylic crystal.
Overall a fine and handsome railroader that is working well and looking good.
