18 size Hamilton 21 jewel 940 railroad watch
A nice Hamilton 940 railroader in a "Silverode" case made in 1903.
This full plate movement is one of Hamilton' finest 18 size movements. To full railroad requirements it has 21 jewels with a double roller fully capped Swiss lever escapement, gold timing screws and a micro-regulator. The watch is stem wind and lever set, it's running strong in all positions and keeping very good time.
The heavy "Silverode" (Nickel alloy) case is in excellent condition. Screw on / off covers with both doing so easily.
The only flaws I can find on the double sunk white enamel dial is a hairline down by the 8, and there is a chip right in the centre otherwise it's all good. A nice set of blued steel hands and an acrylic crystal.
Overall a fine example.
