16s Waltham model 1888 17j Riverside.

Fairly scarce 16 size Waltham 17 jewel "Riverside" model 1888.
The "Riverside" grade is a high quality movement that features a Swiss lever escapement, Sapphire pallets, gold timing screws and a micro-regulator. The movement is finished with a lovely damaskened pattern, black enamel script and gold jewel settings.
This particular movement was made sometime between 1896 and 1899. It has just been fully serviced and a new mainspring added. It runs well and keeps good time. The watch is stem wind and stem set.
The gold filled case does show it's age because there is a band of wear through arond the edge of the main body, which I have tried to photo for you. It has a snap on bezel with a hinged rear cover and hinged internal dust cover, both hinges are good.
Very good private label dial with the time indicated by a good set of fine spade style hands under a very good mineral crystal.
Overall a good quality watch that runs well in an honest case.
