16s Waltham Crescent Street 21j Railroad

16s Waltham Crescent Street 21j Railroad

A 16s Railroad watch made by Waltham Watch Co. in 1908.

The nickel movement is a model 1908 Crescent Street grade with 21 jewels, a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallets and gold timing screws  with a "Church 1892" style micro-regulator.

This is a high quality railroad grade movement that runs well and keeps good time. The watch is stem wind and lever set (withdraw the small lever by the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time). Both these functions working smoothly.

The 3 piece 20 year gold filled case is in very good order with no dents or dings, no heavy abrasion and no apparent wear through. The pendant, crown and bow are also in good order. The case has screw on / off covers and both do so easily whilst they also close down square and tight. A very nice case!

The double sunk white enamel dial is in very good shape but it does have a chip by the 5, please study the photos.

The blued steel spade style hands are good as is the mineral glass crystal.

Overall a very collectible and useable railroad grade watch in fine condition and working well.
