16s Illinois Bunn Special Railroad pocket watch

16 size 21 jewel railroad watch made by Illinois Watch Co. in 1919.
The "Bunn Special" is one of the most well known railroad watches and highly desirable amongst collectors, and with very good reason! The beautifully finished movement has 21 jewels, a fully capped Swiss lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallet stones, gold timing screws, a "Reed" micro-regulator, and gold jewel settings. Renowned for it's accuracy and reliability it has very well deserved reputation.
This one is in excellent condition, running well and keeping excellent good time. It is crown wind and lever set (withdraw the small lever by the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time)> Both these functions work smoothly and the watch runs to the full extent of the wind.
The 3 piece case I believe to be gold plated rather than gold filled but I could be wrong. It's made by IWC and is in very good condition with no dents or dings and I can find no wear through anywhere. The covers both remove/replace easily and both close down square and tight. Nice engine turned patterning to the rear but there is apparent smoothing to the design.
Original double sunk white enamel dial is in very good order, please study the photos. A good set of spade style hands under a good mineral crystal.
 
Overall a very collectible pocket watch in lovely condition, running well.
