16s Hamilton 990, 21j Railroad just serviced.

This is a fairly scarce railroad watch as only 12600 were ever produced, made by Hamilton Watch Co. in 1911.
The watch is very high quality as it features 21 jewels, a fully capped Swiss Lever escapement with double roller, Sapphire pallet stones, gold timing screws, and a "Reed" micro-regulator. Additionally the watch has Gold train wheels with a steel escape wheel. Beautifully finished with a lovely damascened pattern, gilt inlaid script and gold jewel settings. The watch makers art at it's finest!
The watch has just been fully serviced including fitment of a brand new mainspring, so it's now running strong in all positions and is keeping excellent time within + a couple of seconds per day.
The watch is crown wind and lever set (withdraw the small lever by the 1 and rotate the crown to set the time) both functions working well.
 
The original gold filled case is in really good condition with no visible dents, dings or heavy abrasion.
The heavily engraved/embossed rear cover shows minimal wear to the raised parts of the design and the engine turned centre is in fine fettle. Lovely case!
The case has screw on/off covers front and rear with both doing so easily and both closing down square and tight.
 
The white enamel Montgomery style dial is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines and all of the printing is crisp and sharp.
Excellent set of blued steel hands under an as new mineral crystal.
 
Overall a fairly rare Hamilton railroader in lovely condition that is working well and keeping reliable time.
