16 size Waltham Full Hunter 7 jewel model 1899

Nice 16 size gents Hunter pocket watch made by Waltham Watch Co. in 1900.
 
Model 1899 movement with brass plates and 7 jewels. This is the base 16 size movement but has over the years proven itself to be extremely robust and workmanlike giving excellent service and reliability. Witness the number still performing well today.
 With a Swiss lever escapement the watch is running well and keeps very good time. The watch was last serviced in September 2021.
It is stem wind and stem set, both functions working well.
 
Housed in a 20 year gold filled case by Dennison with hinged front / rear and internal dust covers. The case is in lovely condition with no apparent dents, dings or abrasion and only minor gold loss by the external hinges. All of the covers operate as they should and all close square and tight.
Single sunk white enamel dial is in good order. The blued steel spade style hands similarly so as is the acrylic crystal.
 
Overall a nice example of the base model 16 size hunter.
