16 size Elgin 15j Half Hunter, recently serviced.

A very good 16 size half hunter made by Elgin Watch Co. in 1915. Unusually with blue enamelled numerals to the front cover.
 
The brass plate movement is a model 6, grade 365 with 15 jewels and a Swiss lever escapement with double roller. This has just been fully serviced and a new mainspring fitted. The watch runs well in all positions and is keeping good time. The watch is stem wind and stem set, both functions working smoothly.
 
The 20 year gold filled half hunter case is in very nice condition, just a very small ding on the rear cover. All of the gold appears intact and there is no apparent wear through apart from the expected wear to the bow. The front cover has blue enamelled numbers rather than the more common black, surrounding a very good porthole crystal.  A nice case.
 
The single sunk white enamel dial is in good order as are the correct double spade hands under a good acrylic crystal.
 
Overall a very handsome and useable half hunter working as it should.
